Tochina

Tochina is a reinterpretation of the ancient Sicilian Lumera, an object with a practical and symbolic value, a guiding spirit halfway between a Kachina and a Totem. Magic, alchemy, religion have always accompanied man as weapons against the transience of earthly things. He who has always lived with the anxiety of imminent dangers for the person and his possessions has never ceased to seek the help of magic, to believe in the miracle, to build places and objects that made him feel safe from the most fearful of earthly demands, death.
On the basis of these relationships between natural-supernatural, earthly-otherworldly, earth-sky, Tochina was born. Made with local materials and a modern decoration hand painted.

The base of this object is made of Comiso stone with cnc technology. Wooden parts and the finishes are handmade and may undergo slight variations.
